Philippe Mellier
President of Alstom Transport
Born in 1955, Philippe Mellier graduated as Mechanical Engineer from the ENSTA in Paris in 1979. The following year, he gained an MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau (France).
In 1980, he started his career at Ford Motor Company as Sales Planning & Analysis supervisor. During 19 years , he occupied various managing positions for Ford in France, Portugal, New-Zealand and Mexico. He finished his career at Ford as Vice-President, Marketing, Sales & Service, Europe. In 1999, he joined Renault as Senior Vice President, Market Area Europe.
In 2001 he moved to the Volvo AB company to become C.E.O. of Renault Trucks. In addition to this role, he was appointed President of Renault Trucks and became member of the Volvo Group Executive Committee.
In 2003 he became President of ALSTOM Transport and member of the ALSTOM Executive Committee.
Philippe Mellier is French, speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently.
