Pascal Morand

Director General of ESCP-Europe

Pascal Morand is graduate of HEC (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales) and holds a doctorate in Economics. He is Dean of ESCP-Europe and Associate Professor of Economics at IFM where he was Director General from 1987 to December 2006. He is a trustee of the Board of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI), member of the Scientific board of COE-Rexecode and of the Steering Committee of the Codice (French board to promote the economic culture and knowledge). His research work and publications deal with international economics and the relationship between economics and culture. He has in particular written an essay concerning “La Victoire de Luther” (Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, 2001). He chaired from december 2006 to april 2007 a high level group on globalisation for Christine Lagarde, then the French Minister of Foreign trade. The report makes a number of recommendations fostering the growth of the French economy in a context of globalization. This mission were continued from September 2008 to February 2009 to propose a wider definition of innovation. He has also been actively involved between 2003 and 2006 in formulating and implementing a new strategy for the Moroccan textile and garment industry.
