Knut Rexed

Knut Rexed has been a senior economist at the National Confederation of Professional Employees, Chief Economic Adviser and State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Director General of the Agency for Public Management. He has been Vice Chair of OECDs Public Governance Committee and Sweden’s delegate in the European Public Administration Network. He is now retired from public service.
He is a structural economist and has mainly worked with questions related to the financing, organisation, governance and management of public activities and commitments. Already in 1988, he wrote a TCO-report on the evolution from integrated production organisations towards networks of cooperating units. He has assisted in the structuring and reregulation of several important public services, and has successfully advocated a network structure maximising the evolutionary potential of Swedish e-government.
