Entrepreneurship, flexibility and innovation is what Europe needs, it is what people need and it’s our duty – our job – to make this happen - François Barrault - President of BT International
Europe has been strategic to the growth of GE. I know it’s unfashionable to say that you can be successful in Europe, but we can be successful in Europe. This is still one of the biggest markets in the world: 500-600 million consumers, with an ever evolving population-base. We’ve invested 20 billion dollars in Europe over the last 15 years. So we consider this as being a key market for us.
Dr Edward G. Krubasik
Executive Vice President of SIEMENS AG
Students must be encouraged and public authorities must ensure the highest quality education, particularly in engineering. In Germany, 30,000 engineers will retire in the coming years, while the country will only produce 20,000.
Anne Mulcahy
Chairman and CEO of XEROX
Increasingly our customers are turning to us for global solutions to their document-related problems. Europe, it seems to us, is uniquely advantaged in this respect. You’ve been dealing with pan-European technology and language issues for decades. Making the leap from pan-European solutions to global solutions is not such a stretch.
Erkki Ormala
Vice President of Technology of Nokia
We are extremely concerned about what is happening in Europe. We are more and more concerned that Europe is lagging behind. In order to be able to maintain, it’s not enough to be stable; it’s important to run faster and faster because global competition is getting much more hectic than we thought even five years ago.
Peter Kruse
CEO of DHL Worldwide Networks NV/SA
The harmonisation of the conditions of expatriates should take place. The increase of education spending is an absolute necessity. We know that all governments at the moment are having more or less substantial budget problems, but in terms of spending on education, it should get priority over subsidies in other areas.

David Fisher, Architect

- David Fisher
Dr. Fisher graduated with Honours from the School of Architecture in Florence. In the mid-eighties he became involved in New York in different construction methods, setting up and managing large industrial facilities, as well as in the building and development activity of hotel projects.
He cannot be considered an architect in the traditional sense. Dr. Fisher has made a 360-degree experience in the building world - from project development to construction management, from teacher to designer. He has been redefining the technological extremes of buildings in several cities for over three decades.
Dr. Fisher’s professional activity has always been focused on two concepts: an industrial approach involving the use of prefabricated units, and Dynamic Architecture, where the traditional three-dimensional design meets a fourth dimension: Time. With his invention of the Dynamic Tower, he is transforming Time to herald a New Era of Architecture.
Among his latest awards – “World Architect of the Year 2008” by the Developers & Builders Alliance and TIME Magazine has selected his Dynamic Tower among the best inventions of the year 2008.
